A message from CNMA President Naomi Newhouse follows
below and I am attaching an Adobe pdf file that is the registration form for
our 2010 Lobby Day. Based on the primary
focus of the state legislature being the budget we are doing the same. Our focus for Lobby Day this year is to
educate our legislators on the importance of CNMs as a solution! This follows our messages over the past
efforts with more concrete information about how we are the solution of saving
money. More information will be
forthcoming in the next months leading up to Lobby Day. I hope that you will all consider attending
our meeting. Let me reassure you all
that WE WILL BE IN SACRAMENTO ON APRIL 13th, 2009 ADVOCATING FOR CNMs!!
Please pass the word so that we can have a strong
presence! The registration form will
also be on the CNMA website (www.CNMA.net).
If you cannot open the attachment or get it off the website, please let
me know and I will fax it to you from my office. The number to my office is 657-278-4729 or
657-278-5630. Cheryl or Lindy will be
happy to get the form to you!

Greetings California Nurse-Midwives:
As we start 2010, California nurse-midwives face
significant challenges. We've made
impressive gains over the past 10 years and are now charged with protecting
hard won advances collectively and wisely fought for by our fore-mothers. This protection is afforded by CNMA board
collaboration with our lobby team at Political Solutions. The experts at Political Solutions closely
monitor the capitol, advising the CNMA board on key issues that could threaten
or advance midwifery practice across the state. This close and effective
collaboration has contributed to our success.
We are the envy of most advanced practice providers in California as
we've made headway and advances that remain illusive and unrealized in other
professions. The work and assistance of
Political Solutions is vital to our continued survival and growth in California.
To that end, we at the board spend countless hours of
volunteer time watching and intervening when necessary. What we need from you as an individual
nurse-midwife practicing in California is your membership to CNMA along with
any donation to allow us to continue to have Political Solutions provide their
counsel, expertise and protection of our practice. We cannot continue our efforts without your
assistance.
Please go to our web site (www.CNMA.net) and join or
renew your membership and make a donation.
As we face a new legislative session, time is of the essence.
Warm Regards and With Gratitude,
Naomi Newhouse CNMA President
